My name is Kathryn Dickinson. I am an artisan spinner – this means I am an experienced spinner with the ability to design the wool you would like to buy for your next knitting (or crochet) project. I also design knitting and crochet patterns for handspun wool. I enjoy designing wool to the colour, blend and weight you require, from very fine to super chunky, which happens to be my favourite!
I remember the moment when I realised that I could create wool that could be knitted into a cosy comfortable jumper designed by me - I was extremely happy and filled with joy!If you would like to buy hand spun, hand dyed Wool, for a warm, comfortable jumper, shawl, scarf, fingerless gloves, that nobody else will be wearing at an affordable price, you have come to the right place!
ARE YOU MY CUSTOMER?
My customer is someone who would like to buy hand spun wool in his or her particular and favourite colours, that cannot be found readymade on the internet or from a store on the high street. You may have a garment and would love a shawl to match, but cannot find the right shade. I can help you with this.

If this is you, please let me know the type of wool you are after for your pattern and the type/weight of wool and I will do this for you. I can produce colours that are made from acid dyes and also natural dyes.
I have been knitting for over 50 years, but often struggled to locate the yarn or patterns I desired. I learned to spin wool at Beretun Spinners, my nearest spinning group, in Burton on Humber using a second-hand wheel. I taught myself to dye wool and to blend colours - magical processes! I have been spinning for over 10 years.
My tutor at university said I was a curious artist…
I am influenced by nature’s flora and fauna, from its birth in spring to its decay in autumn – so many colours and textures. I also like to recycle and up-cycle wherever possible. I enjoy all Fine Art and Art & Crafts.
Hand spinning is fun and makes me think and smile and wonder… what if…
